Prayer in Your Daily Life

How is your prayer life this year as it unfolds? We are now in the third month of 2025, and I continually find that prayer is not the first thing on one’s priority list in most lives.  When I coach clients or ask others where their prayer lies on their priority list, I get this: “I do pray.”  That’s a vague answer for sure. If you claim to be “Christian” a follower of Jesus Christ, then you are not following the precepts set forth in the Bible.

God, your father in heaven wants to be in that first place on your list. He is emphatic about that. In Exodus where the 10 commandments are written, the very first one is: “Have no other gods before ME.”  Did you notice that the word “god” is in lowercase? Why do you think that is?

For many years I have been writing, teaching, and coaching this principle, this precept, this commandment, and its importance in staying in a correct vertical relationship with God. Do you know what this means?

When you wake up first thing in the morning what is your first conscious action?

Do you reach for your iPhone?

Do you jump up and dress for a workout?

Do you jump up and look at your clock and wonder did I oversleep?

Were you awakened by a young child who is wanting breakfast?

And any other myriad of answers.

What do you think God wants you to do when you open your eyes?

Your Father in Heaven wants an intimate relationship with you.

What does that mean?

It means:

  1. Thank Him for sleep.
  2. Thank Him for the restoration of your body.
  3. Praise Him
  4. Worship Him with singing [or listening to PRAISE music]
  5. Ask Him this: “My Father in Heaven, what do you want me to do today for your kingdom?”
  6. Then wait quietly for Him to answer.

The more you practice this and learn to LISTEN for His answer the more in turn you will be in your intimate relationship with Him.

NO – most likely you will not hear an audible loud deep voice [or whatever you believe God sounds like], but rather it is a soft knowing, an answer not of your own making and you will KNOW it is GOD!

Your BIBLE is full of prayers for you to pray.

Did you know that?

What prayers do you know or have memorized from childhood?

Here are just a few for you to look up and really look and see if you don’t notice they are an “OUTLINE” or “PLAN” for you to follow! Fabulous Right!!!

My challenge to you is to find a Small Group Bible Study group that is studying “PRAYER.”  When you study specific books in the Bible or topics specifically with another group of believers, your prayer life will grow exponentially.

I will end with this prayer for each of you reading this:

Our Father in Heaven.

Thank you for loving me and sacrificing your Son Jesus to save my life.

I pray a hedge of protection around each person reading this in every area of their life.

I pray that the evil one will be expelled from their mental thinking and their bodily health.

Speak Father to those who earnestly need to hear your still small voice in whatever manner you choose.

Thank you,

Amen
