Today I read this from a study I am starting on my own, see if this feeling[s] resonates with you…“I don’t know how to make peace with the uncertainty of what God allows. And it’s not just what He allows it; it’s also how much He allows. His timing. His ways. His long patience for something I feel requires swift action. He seems to have great endurance for listening to me cry over what He surely could stop change, rethink, redo, erase or undo. I don’t get it.”
What about you? Do you find yourself with these same things running amuck in your head? Sometimes the “mystery” surrounding God and His ways leads me down a path I cannot and will not go. None of us can know God’s thoughts and His ways are not our ways, so why do we linger here in this frustration of No Man’s Land and wind up in a dry desert looking for a cool glass of water, a blue sky and the green grass to soothe us.
Thoughts like this cross our minds:
- I’ve got this…
- I know where to find [whatever it is that I need] …
- I can get this done by the time it needs completing!…
Since we are all sinners from the beginning, we will always fall short without leaning solely on God for help. Once again, I am going to quote from this study here because it is so true:
“We think we know best. But isn’t it interesting that the very thing God instructed Adam and Eve not to partake in- knowledge that they weren’t capable of handling [Genesis 2:17] – is what we are reaching for today? We aren’t capable of knowing what’s best. Only God has that knowledge. Therefore, only God is capable of steering us toward what is best. Only God is capable of seeing what is truly best. Only God knows what is truly best for us.”
Our daily “uncertainties” that pop up in the most unexpected moments, may and do throw us off our preplanned to-do list and get in the way of what we believe is our forward progress to end our day well and having completed all those things on that list. But I suggest to you that your list, and the uncertainties that wedge their way into our lives are actually an attempt for Satan to kick God off His throne and replace Him with your list and those uncertainties. Have you ever considered asking this:
“God, is this list what YOU want me to do today? If it is not, please direct my eyes, feet, and life to light my path today. Amen”
Or what about this:
“Lord, is this “uncertainty” from YOU, or is this a distraction luring me away from YOU today?”
Be assured of this: Satan wants us to live in the comfort of our ability to control what is in front of us, and what we plan for the future without consulting God first!
- Are you exhausted trying to figure it all out?
- Do you lie awake in bed at night tossing and turning?
- Do you wake up in the morning more exhausted than when you went to bed?
- Do you open your eyes and grab your phone looking for a solution and don’t know where to find it?
As I am studying and reading this study, the author spoke about an epiphany about what was at the real root of the issue. You’ve heard me voice this same sentiment a thousand times – the root of the issue is and always will be:
F-E-A-R which = False Evidence Appearing Real in our lives!
You will remember way back there in the garden, what did Satan do? He twisted God’s command to Adam and Eve and probed them with that question which was a LIE! It amazes me how we fall for his evil twisted lies over and over again all these thousands of years later. When will we learn? “Why change what works on weak human beings anyway,” is what Satan must think!
“Am I willing to make PEACE with myself and recognize without God’s leading, I am lost in a wilderness of my own making? My prayer is to have God’s presence in every cell of my body 24-7-365 on this life’s journey to peace.”
How does one know if what we are experiencing is indeed from God or Satan’s Phishing? Several times a day I receive text messages and email messages from unknown sources giving some dire consequences about something with my technology. I am sure you receive them too. How do you discern if it is real or are they indeed phishing? Too many people immediately throw up their alarms and think they are in dire trouble when it is someone, we do not know trying to steal from us. So how do we know if it is “Satan’s Phishing” at work? Know what, I have begun to just see all of these things as “Satan’s Phishing!” His vast army is at work in people and places around the globe trying their best to ensnare us in his evil ways and to keep us afraid, upset and unsure of what we think, what we decide and what we do. Do not be deceived!
Here’s what I do know for sure:
- “Lies, flee from TRUTH!”
- “Lies cannot flourish in God’s Light!”
- “Only GOD can strengthen us!”
- Knowledge will not strengthen us nor lead us to the right decision.
- “God holds each of us in HIS righteous right hand.”
- “God cannot uphold us in unrighteous ways, because He is only Righteous and His character is not unrighteous.”
What are you thinking at this moment? Are you in a state of mass confusion? Or are you like me, having the scales removed from your eyes and ears and thinking I have been deceived for some time, and I will not with God’s help be deceived any more in every area of my life. I personally have been fearing a “possible” side effect of some medication which is unfounded. I have not had the side effect that I believed when I heard a news report on it. What wakeup call do you need today?
None of us is all knowing and none of us is perfect and God never designed us to be so.
I am praying for all of you who have read this and are rethinking what you believe and why you are holding onto that belief. Who or What have you put on God’s Throne?
