A good friend of mine just published a book last month entitled: “From Drift to Drive.” His name is Chris Robinson. I have listened to Chris being interviewed and pitching his book many times and what I am going to write about today is what I have gleened from hearing his explaination about how we are human are a “drifting” bunch. [my term].
Chris said this in his text: “There are two kinds of people in this world. Those who “drift” through life, and those who take “ownership” of therir life’s journey.” What a bold statement. Which person are you? I believe we drift until we have a “Defining Moment” which essentially gives us the perverbial slap in the face to WAKE UP and do something different. We also ccall this “Defining Moment” an “A-HA” moment.
According to Mark Twain, and “A-HA” moment is dfefined as the difference between “Un-huh” and “WOW” is the diference between a lightening bug and lightening! Picture that?
Here at the last quarter of 2025, think back on what were your “Defining Moments.”
What did you do when your were in the middle of those moments?
I personally have had several each month in this momentus year of 2025 in my own life. Sometimes I accepted them. Other times I rebelled against them. While in other defining moments I submitted and still in others I shrank back into the shadows to hide. Each of these decisions came with consequences and many of thos consequences were good while others were really bad.
I believe the thing I learned most was to “obey God” and to seek “clarity” about my next step. That next step might have been an action step, words coming out of my mouth, or being silent. I needed to also rethink my priorities in every area of my life.
If you have read anything written here in the Titus Rose Blog over the past 20 years, you will know that my growth has always been “INTENTIONAL.” There is a “sequence” in putting forth and developing priorities.
You and I must be willing to sacrifice self to the greater good. We cannot “DRIFT” through our lives hoping things will be okay. There are unseen forces at war in this life that we do not undertand and we cannot see. It matters not if you believe this statement or not. I know for me I feel these spiritual wars in play all around me. What I see and feel are the outcomes of this war.
This blog has a lot to take in and to think about and to ponder.
I think I will stop here and let you consider what has been written.
Let me know what you think.
