To What End?

We are now well into January 2026, and I have noticed a disturbing trend when watching sports, news programing, online posts and AI generated content, and other programs on the air. Let me ask you if you have seen or even been aware of this trend.

It seems as if global society is moving in the direction of living life through “Apps, and the acceptance of AI as truth.” Your decisions are made through the App. Your daily work schedule is made up in the App. Your life, work, exercise and eating habits are all on a dozen or more Apps. Your diet is delivered through an online App. Feeling lonely, go to an App. Feeling hungry, go to your App.  Need your dog walked, go to a dog walking App.  Need new clothing because you don’t have time to shop, go to an App and the clothes will be sent to you.

So, what are you good for?

You can ZOOM in and out of work via an App.  You can do all your work scheduling on an App.  Order flowers, party food, car detailing, and everything in life through an App.

So, what are you good for?

If everything is done for you, what is your responsibility in living your life?

I recently was with some parents who have already taught their three-year-old to ask: “What’s the plan?”  A three-year-old does not need to know every detail in their small lives. What exactly are these little ones expected to know and how to process what they hear. Cognitively they do not have this ability/skillset to process information of this kind.

Have you seen the news lately? People in the streets, screaming and yelling about a history they do not know, much less understand where this thinking distorts their thinking. Or are they thinking for themselves at all? They appear to be programmed robots.

Everybody has an opinion on everything even if they are wrong about the cause they are supposedly supporting. …to what end?…  Did they do their homework on what they are protesting about? I have seen several reporters asking questions on the topic of the protest only to have the person carrying the sign, ramble off data which historically are woefully untrue and yet these individuals are convinced otherwise.

I see women with babies strapped in carriers out in the cold night, walking carrying their protest signs. Again……to what end?…  Does an infant in front carrier need to be out at night in the cold instead of in their crib fast asleep? What does this say about the parent?

Who is confused here about who they are and what their values are?

I’ve never been a fan of yelling and screaming as a plan for getting resolution and getting a solution about something we as a population disagree with in our communities. It further divides versus bringing unity to the cause. It makes me sad to see the division, and the spiraling down of society. This disintegration has happened thousands of times in previous millennium, over and over again. History does indeed repeat itself.

So again, I ask: …to what end?…

Is there an App for that? Maybe.

If we as a people stay wrapped up in the disintegration of negativity in society, there will not be anything that can has value or can be retained as a cultural norm.

Each person has their own standard, their own view of what they are entitled to in life, their own definition of what is right and what is wrong. There is an ancient text where the author writes using this phrase: “do not be unevenly yoked.”  It is very apropos here for sure.  It means do not tie yourself to someone who is culturally different from you.  In a belief system, in a cultural system, in all demographic situations.  Why?  Granted there are people, couples and cultural groups who were conquered in history and forced to assimilate into the culture that conquered them, but if you choose to leave the culture you were brought up in and move, you cannot recreate the culture you just left in a new place totally. History is replete with examples of this since the beginning of recorded history.

We are encouraged to put away the old and put on the new.  If a person is seeking to escape whatever it is that their past has them chained to, then they need to let go of the past, and incorporate what they can from their past into their new future.  Otherwise you will be creating a culture of isolation, and a silo of living apart from your new found liberation.

This is the 250th anniversary of the founding of The United States of America and she will not last another 50 years with the current political and social climate from sea to shining sea.

Life is too brief to be wrapped up in this unending turmoil and discontent, protesting, harming other human beings, and destroying all that we want to have toward peace and tranquility. When you take your last breath, will you be still screaming and toting your protest sign and when you are asked, “What did you do to further the cause for peace and tranquility?” What will you be able to say?

Personally, I feel “DRAINED” at the constant bombardment of the dissatisfied in every corner of our nation. It feels as if I am dragging an anchor behind me.

…to what end?…
