Recently, I received an email and read a Facebook Post about two intriguing topics I’d like to talk about this month. I ask you to clear your mind and let whatever resonates with you, sink in and then think about how to apply these topics in your business and your private life.
I will just write the questions and topics here and then do an explanation of how these items triggered thoughts in my life.
#1. What are you carrying in your life because you have gotten used to carrying it?
#2. What in my life needs more of my attention in this 2nd half of 2026?
#3. What in my life needs less of my attention in this 2ne half of 2026?
#4. Look at your calendar, where is there “White Space?”
#5. What needs to change in my personal life in 2027?
#6. What needs to change in my professional life in 2027?
#7. Who needs more of my time and attention in this last half of 2026?
#8. Who do I want to release from my “inner circle” by December 31, 2026?
#9. What did I experience in 2026 that propelled me forward?
#10. What’s the one question, I do not dare to ask myself?
These are intriguing questions aren’t they? I bet you may even bristle at some of them, knowing full well you know the answer[s] and still refuse to do anything about the real answers! Am I right? You bet I am! Do not beat yourself up over these questions, because I have them, you have them, your friends wrestle with them too and others you interact with every day are thinking about them too.
If you follow and read any of my thinking online you will know there are a couple of questions I ask my readers, clients, friends and family all the time. So let’s employ them here for each of the 10 questions.
#1. What are you carrying in your life because you have gotten used to carrying it?
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true? If I truly want to let go of what I have been carrying around, what would I choose to do differently? Now, how do I think I would feel without that burden on my shoulders? So, what do you want to do about that burden?
When will you let go?______________________
#2. What in my life needs more of my attention in this 2nd half of 2026?
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true? Is this truly where I want my attention to be? If I truly want to focus my attention elsewhere, what would I choose to do differently? Now, how do I think I would feel with your new attention?
So, how will you go about refocusing your attention?
When will you begin?_______________________________
#3. What in my life needs less of my attention in this 2ne half of 2026?
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true? Is this truly where I want my attention to be in the remaining months of 2026? If I truly want to focus my attention elsewhere, what would I choose to do differently? Now, how do I think I would feel with less of this in my life?
So, how will you go about letting go of this particular attention drainer?
What will you do instead?
When will you begin?_______________________________
#4. Look at your calendar, where is there “White Space?”
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true? Now, how do I think I would feel with less of this in my life? What does “White Space” give you in your life?
What would you do with just one white marked off calendar day in your life?
How might this giving of yourself more white space improve your life?
When will you begin?_______________________________
#5. What needs to change in my personal life in 2027?
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true? Personal lives are a touchy subject, and sometimes we are blinded to what is going on and only others see it clearly. You might ask a trusted friend what they have noticed in 2026, or ask what seems to have changed.
If you changed one thing in 2027, what might that be?
How will you go about incorporating that change?
You don’t have to be perfect, and do it every day, take it one day at a time!
#6. What needs to change in my professional life in 2027?
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true? Maybe you work for someone who gives you a “performance review,” ask how you can improve or what skill or knowledge do you need to get and where can you get that skill or knowledge?
You again don’t have to be perfect every day, no one is, but you can make a concerted effort to improve.
#7. Who needs more of my time and attention in this last half of 2026?
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true? It seems like thousands of times I have mentored and coached and trained clients that people are not in our lives for a lifetime in either of our two worlds. They are there for seasons. These people may need something we have wisdom, knowledge, strength, guidance and or friendship for a duration and then you or they move on. This is the natural way of things. Do not hold on to what has ended naturally.
Think of the “WHO” and then gradually let go. Say no thank you, I am headed in a different direction, my focus is no longer here. We are moving and I have new things to focus on.
#8. Who do I want to release from my “inner circle” by December 31, 2026?
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true? Do you know exactly WHO is in your “inner circle” fight now. I encourage you to look at the people whom you are in constant contact with, that is usually 5 people. Do you realize that you will mimic or become those whom you are closest to? If you want to rise up, then get in proximity to those who are 5 – 10 years ahead of you. If you want a mentor to help you rise, seek one out and ask.
This simple realization of who you surround yourself with will make 2027 a different ball game.
#9. What did I experience in 2026 that propelled me forward?
Speak your answer out loud now. Then answer this:
Is my answer true? How do I know it is true?
Sometimes, we yearn for an experience, but we simply do not know how to go about experiencing that event. I encourage you to find out and research all you can about the thing you want to experience. Plan it out like a “project manager” and put those mile markers on your calendar and get busy. If you have a group of people who have voiced interest in the same thing, make it a team event. You might have more traction and acceleration with a team working together.
#10. What’s the one question, I do not dare to ask myself?
I love this question, more than all the others. I ask it in my “Coaching Call Prep Form” my clients fill out the day before I speak with them on our coaching calls. You know what is so funny about this question? They want to talk about it! I never bring it up, the mere suggestion of this question relives them of the pressure of anticipation of me might asking it.
Of course they already know the answer and so do you!
Okay, we are at the end of this month’s blog.
If you would like to pursue any of these questions posed in this blog, reach out. Send me an email and let’s have a frank discussion. No pressure, just a discussion about what is real and what is F.E.A.R = False Evidence Appearing Real!
