Your Spiritual & Thinking Capacity

I am a person of faith so this capacity is particularly important to me.  Perhaps you are a person on a faith other than mine and just so you know, this pertains to you to, no judgement here.  We each have a choice to make about faith – either we increase our faith by strengthening it through capacity or we weaken and eventually reject the idea altogether.  Where do you fall here?

How does a person increase their faith capacity?

  1. Pray that you will know God.
  2. Pray that you will experience God’s love.
  3. Pray that you will allow God to do great things in your life.

Here are two great quotes for you to ponder today:

“The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.” ~Mother Teresa.         Do you know someone who is living in loneliness; whom could you visit during this month?  Who do you know that feels unloved?

What can you do about that during this month of Thanksgiving?

“God loves us, not because we are lovable but because He is love.”  ~C. S. Lewis

Last month we talked about highly productive people and those same people also “THINK” differently than the average person.  They increase their capacity by thinking effectively.  You probably never put those two words together in the same sentence:  Thinking and Effectively.

Everything begins with a thought in your head, you knew that right?  What we think determines who we are.  So if we keep the same old thinking we will get the same old results.

If we continue in our same line of old thinking then that will determine where we will go in our lives.

Did you ever notice that the people in your life, whom you consider successful, think a little differently than you do?  Next time you are in a highly observation mode, check out those people who are successful and see if you can determine what it is about their thinking that makes them different than those who do not think the way they do.

Let me help you here with a huge shortcut.  A highly successful person is bias for action.  When you say:  “…I do that tomorrow…” the successful person sticks out the process and competes that thing today.  It is a funny thing that this one thinking switch change can increase your thinking capacity.  The more you think things through the greater your capacity.  Here’s another way to increase your thinking capacity:  start ideating.  Write down those ideas in some kind of a simple spiral notebook or journal. Then every so often go through your idea book and see what is worth pursuing.  Share your ideas with others.  Two heads are better than one as the saying goes so have a brainstorming session with someone.

If one of your ideas seems to have merit, take it out for a spin.  Talk to others about it and see if they get excited about it or have further input on the idea to make it grow.  This is a wonderful topic to have with a team.  You never know who is sitting at the table that has had the next great product, service or way to solve your company’s most critical problem.
