Do you remember the first time you expereinced a revolving door? You do remember “Elf’s” first revolving door experience; so funny and yet sickening at the same time. I remember my first electric eye revolving door in another country and I did get stuck. My suitcase, my body and the time allotted did not match. It was very embarrassing. I have also gotten stuck in one of these things and not been able to exit the first time around. It is like you are not in control of your exit.
Life is like one of these revolving doors.
Here’s what I mean, we go about our daily lives and then we come upon something familiar and we enter the revolving door. We know what is expected and what to expect and we do it and then exit.
Sometimes we get stuck in the revolving door and are in and out, in and out, in and out, so often than we are just going through the motions and not thinking about what we are doing at all.
I call this your “default position”. You just get into the door and go around and around and eventually get out with very little thought as to where you were, how you got there or what you did.
This is a dangerous place to live life.
Life is not just like brushing your teeth twice a day.
In order to be both proactive and preventative in life we must examine what we do, why we do that thing, and where we want to go with our lives.
All too often we wake up one day and look in the mirror and don’t know who that is looking back at us.
What do you want to examine right now?
