On Oprah’s new network OWN, she has a show entitled “Master Class”. These are candid looks and revelations at the lives of some famous people, who have impacted our lives, our culture, our social morays, our political landscape and much more. Recently, Dr. Condoleezza Rice was giving the master class and she commented about her own life path and how things she loved and was passionate about were put into perspective on the bigger stage of life and how that moment of realization changed her own life path.
She didn’t know what she actually wanted or where she wanted to go, so she spread her interests net wide and took one day (or in her class college class) at a time and one day, she stumbled upon the thing that would shape the rest of her life.
I suggest you watch it and see what I am talking about.
Life Decisions are often a very burdensome thing. There comes a point when “What do you want to be when you grow up?” no longer seems appropriate. And yet it is. Statistics tell us that we will each have 5 -8 job changes in our lives. That’s a lot of change. You would not even conceive of a thing like that at 18, 25, or 30. Our mindset is, I’ve been trained and I’ve studied to do “XYZ” and that’s what I will do the rest of my life.
